Abstract

The environment-effect reporting (MER) "Actualisering" fourth Memorandum on Physical Planning Extra (VINEX) compares various urbanisation options for 4,000 homes with 20 hectares of industrial area in the Leyden region and 225 hectares of industrial area in the Rotterdam region. In this MER, the mobility and accessibility effects of the various urbanisation options are included in the criteria. This study intends to indicate how the various options score on the mobility and accessibility criteria, as these are given in the MER guidelines. The SMART 2.1 traffic forecasting model was used. The study was commissioned by the Netherlands Traffic Research Centre (AVV) of the Ministry of Transport. (A)
