Abstract

The author briefly describes the nature of fog and its formation, effects of fog on driving and accidents, current fog abatement techniques, and possible guidance systems to aid drivers in minimizing the hazards encountered in fog. Comments on the author's work are given by W.H. Heiss and Dwayne Hofstetter, and these discussions as well as the author's closure are included in this paper. (See also B 582).
