Abstract

The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (Ministry) has received a number of requests for COMPASS data for commercial Advanced Traveller Information System ventures. Some of these requests include data for areas not currently within the COMPASS Advanced Traffic Management System. The Ministry has determined that it is in the best interest of the public to make COMPASS data available at a fair market price. This market price will be determined during 1999 to take effect on January 1, 2000. While this price structure is being determined, interested companies will be able to obtain a licence from the Ministry to use existing COMPASS real-time data at no cost. (A*)
