Abstract

In Denmark a method has been developed for road accident prevention. The method use by central government is based on computer equipment. The accident recording system leads to coordinated accident statistics, which is used to identify black spots. A detailed analysis leads to countermeasures. Cost benefit analysis is made to ensure optimum utilization of the financial means. Evaluation of safety effects is made to study whether the reconstruction fulfils the intentions. The method has been used for several years and can easily be simplified to adjust to local needs. (A) For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 808557.
