Mobile internet cafe using short range communication.

Abstract

We are living the Internet era. Internet has become a part of life and job, and the connection to the specific web site in anywhere and anytime is strongly desired. To support more flexible Internet, the authors propose to use Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), especially Dedicated Short-Range Communication (DSRC) system. To connect people, roads and cars, they have developed the ITS systems to provide high-speed radio link between Road Side Equipment (RSE) and On Board Equipment (OBE). Mobile Internet caf is typical multimedia service using wireless communication and ITS. In this paper, the authors present the architecture and implementation method of mobile Internet caf using DSRC system. At present this service is supported only when the car is parking or stopping. And the authors discuss the characteristics and advantages of this system comparing to the existing system. The mobile Internet caf using DSRC system is simple and cheap to install the RSE. And it is almost free to use because there is little communication charge. And it makes various Internet service be possible.
