As part of the research into Mobility and Traffic Safety a mathematical model has been developed to calculate the consequences for traffic safety from the developments in mobility. For the first phase in this part four steps are considered (1) determination and description of the development of mobility and traffic safety during 1978-1985 (2) an analysis of these aggregate data to age and sex (3) nature and extent of collision type 1978-1985 (4) determination of risks inside and outside built- up areas 1978-1985, and (5) the development of the mathematical model.
