Abstract

Discussing mobility as an independent phenomenon is criticized. Commuting shopping traffic, recreational traffic and socially generated traffic are mentioned as factors contributing to an increase in mobility. The contribution of public transport to the increase of mobility is of minor importance; the biggest contribution to mobility will be the results of the increasing number of young car owners.
