Abstract

Mobility is considered as materializing of interrelationships among households (families, firms, organisations, etc.) of activity systems through transportation (the dislocation of persons). This definition is discussed. The mobility problem is then narrowed down to commuting and related to government policy to restrict (growth of) mobility. This policy is commented upon through a brief review of some literature on the subject.
