Abstract

Does everybody enjoy mobility? Five different types of users based on mobility perceptions Not everybody perceives mobility in the same way. This paper describes a segmentation based on the perception of mobility. Five different groups of people can be distinguished by their perceptions of mobility and the way they experience mobility: The Goal-oriented, The Conscientious, The Achiever, The Compliant, The Pleasure Seekers. Together, these groups form an instrument called Mobility Perceptions. Each group has it's own way of coping with traffic related problems. The Mobility Perceptions give a psychological. The typology adds creativity in making (new) policies, offers argumentation for communication on policies and stimulates the often technical orientated policy maker to take the human factor into account.
