A modal split model for long distance travel.

Abstract

A modal split model is put forward that contains a description of the transport system for long trips between a set of regions. Each journey is treated as being of three parts: access-main haul-egress. A simplified network model has been constructed on the basis, and contains a geographical representation of the transport alternatives.
