Abstract

This paper presents the development of a model for implementation of mobile and geospatial technology in ports. The work was developed in the context of the use of mobile devices embedded with geospatial systems to automation of procedures for the inspection and supervision of facilities and operations of the port of Santos. The term mobile technology is employed to define equipment, media and software engineering to extend the computerized form outside the boundaries of existing infrastructure. The term geospatial technology is employed to define a software capable to link positioning data to any other data or information.
