Abstract

This study presents a framework of incorporating constraints on the choice set, such as time and monetary budgets, into discrete binary travel choice models. A term called "inclusion probability" is used to represent the probability that a particular alternative is in a decision maker's choice set. This term makes possible the extension of the ordinary binary models to include various types of constraints that influence travel choice behaviour.
