Abstract

This paper deals with the two components that make up the man/machine loop. Considerations of the machine include ways of changing it to reduce death and serious injury. Considerations of the human factor include individual differences, characteristics that help to make man what he is. Different approaches to the accident problem are taken up, with emphasis placed on the learning theory chain approach of stimulus, organism, and response. The "strategy and Tactics Driving Check List" was generated by this paper. It is a system showing good driver behaviours.
