Abstract

Many aggregate models of platoon dispersion simplify the process by representing only the overall flow of traffic. The model discussed focusses on the progress along the road of vehicles leaving a traffic signal stopline during a particular time interval. This approach enables traffic planners to obtain a better idea of the movement of vehicles at this disaggregate level and to aggregate the movements to obtain an overall flow distribution.
