Abstract

The purpose of the project is to study the requirements for reducing accidents in urban areas by applying varied and extensive countermeasure programs. The report gives details of vehicle spot speeds on main streets and pedestrian volumes at 46 marked pedestrian crosswalks throughout the town. Also included is an analysis of a variety of accident data, especially that pertaining to pedestrian risks in crossing the road.
