Abstract

A description is presented of the test setup to investigate tire hydroplaning with scale models. The results of preliminary test to isolate the effects of width, diameter, load, water film thickness and speed are discussed. The problem associated with both the "spin-down" and "spin-up" phenomena are also presented.
