Abstract

This study focuses on state recordkeeping systems and how the highway safety evaluation process uses these systems.How state systems maintain the results of specific project evaluations and use them in the process of selecting theappropriate countermeasures at sites with similar characteristics receives particular attention. Finally, the report includes recommended changes that would enhance the use of recordkeeping systems for maintaining informationon evaluation of countermeasure effectiveness.
