Abstract

The comprehensive northeast corridor transportation project is a planning activity to determine regional passenger and freight transportation requirements to 1980 and beyond. Design concepts and implementation of the model system for forecasting and evaluating indirect impact of alternative transportation systems are described. Three submodels /irio, intra, and imeval/ are included. The system accepts as inputs exogenous regionwide /total/ forecasts of economic-demographic activity distributions and alternative transport policies. Irio is an interregional, interindustry, input-output model. Intra is an intraregional allocation model. Imeval is an output-accounting and evaluation model.
