Abstract

The aim of this paper is to describe a driver model which properly responds to information and traffic messages based on traffic management strategies received via different transmission media. The driver model is installed in the PROROAD system. Various types of messages had to be defined to fulfil the requirements of the traffic management strategies. The messages received by the driver are assessed using a driver-specific model of assessment. After that, a flexible route-planning system computes a route considering the driver's specific local knowledge and preferences. (A)
