Abstract

The growing demand for large-scale interregional transport modeling and the ability of the models to answer questions of regional economic growth, distribution of benefits, and incidence of costs are examined. Attention is drawn to the many problems which remain to be solved in the design and implementation of these models and suggestions are made for finding viable solutions.
