Abstract

ECE Regulation 66 deals with the strength of bus superstructures in case of rollover accident. One of the accepted methods for legislation is the calculation, the computer simulation. The first step to the computer simulation is building up the appropriate bus model. This means a detailed technical analysis of the structure and the determination of the geometry, the load bearing frame (rings), the rigid body parts, the location of hinges, the mass distribution, the torsional stiffness of the body, etc. This paper discusses these subjects. For the covering abstract see ITRD E116488.
