Abstract

A DISCRETE CHOICE MODEL IS CONSTRUCTED AND ESTIMATED EXPLAINING THE BINARY CHOICE OF PRIVATE CAR VS PUBLIC TRANSPORT FOR TRAVEL TO WORK IN SYDNEY DURING THE AM PEAK. A NEW APPROACH TO MODELLING CORRELATIONS IS IMPLEMENTED. HICKSIAN COMPENSATING VARIATION CALCULATIONS ARE MADE TO EVALUATE IMPROVEMENTS IN TRAVEL CHARACTERISTICS.(Author/publisher).
