Abstract

In an earlier study a start was made for a calculation method by which the magnitude and nature of traffic and transport on rural highways could be simulated as a function of land use, social-economic variables and the road network in the concerned area. Therefore a simple, sequential model is developed, which consist of the following part-models (1) production (2) attraction (3) route selection (4) distribution (5) transport mode, and (6) assignment.
