Abstract
The Transportation Research Board's (TRB's) Transportation Research Information Services (TRIS), now in its 42nd year, is a collaborative database with a staff of indexers and abstractors who work with journals, proceedings, technical reports, and books on all aspects of transportation, as wellas with partners worldwide, to ensure access to research information. The authors of this article, three first-hand participants, trace the evolution, history, expansion, and continuing vision of TRIS.
