Abstract

The Government's 10 Year Plan for Transport (see ITRD E105925) was published in July 2000. It sets out a long-term programme of increased funding for transport, totalling ú180 billion over 10 years. The Plan provides a vision of the improved infrastructure and services the Government wishes to see in place by 2010 across a range of different transport modes, and sets out some of the specific changes it expects to be able to deliver with this level of funding. The Plan comes into effect from April 2001. This article explains how the Department for the Environment, Transport and the Regions (DETR) intends to monitor its implementation and progress. (A) For the covering abstract see ITRD E108997.
