Abstract
According to Finnish Road Administration's (Finnra) traffic management policy, the focus of traffic management will shift towards providing collective information on traffic conditions, incidents, road surface conditions, weather and incident management. Such services require effective development of monitoring and data handling systems. National monitoring guidelines for traffic information define the requirements of traffic management for traffic monitoring and the required traffic data. The requirements for traffic monitoring quality levels vary depending on the operating environment used.
