Abstract

Stochastic procedures are often resorted to in analysing the behaviour of traffic participants in certain situations Mathematical treatment then is usually possible under rather simplified assumptions only. To obtain more adequate information, without unwanted simplification, the procedure of simulation by means of the so-called Monte Carlo methods appears to be fruitful, the electronic computer being available as a valuable help in this respect.
