Abstract
A ''state of the art'' study was conducted on the moped in Ohio and other states to assess its impact upon traffic safety and to provide suggestions for future action. A brief history of the moped in Europe and the U.S. is presented. Appended are Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards relating to the moped. Ohio rules for motorized bicyle equipment and qualifications, current moped legislation in Canada (tabulated), a course outline for moped safety, and a bibliography on mopeds.
