An in-depth analysis of moped accidents in North Carolina for the three-year period 1976-1978, is reported. The analyses addresses of examination of (1) trends in moped accidents by year (2) moped accidents versus bicycle, motorcycle and passenger car accidents (by frequency and severity) (3) additional information derived from copies of accident report forms, and (4) interactions among the various accident variables. Discussions dealt with (1) sobriety (2) under aged operators (3) operators with suspended or revoked licenses, and (4) frequent collision types.
