Abstract

The article shows a method of analysing general curvilinear motions of an engine-driven vehicle, thereby supposing that the centre of gravity point of the vehicle traces on a given curve. Furthermore, it deals with a fifth wheel device which is designed and developed by the author for the actual measurement of the relations between the curvature of a locus of the centre of gravity point and the length of the curve. Then, it explains the theoretical equations introduced, and it discusses the validity of them by performing the calculations of an actual case. Finally, it describes a method of applying this theory to the analysis of general curvilinear motions by using a new defined mitigate curve.
