Abstract

We think of inspection as the first step in a program of action to keep motor vehicles in conditions. One cannot know that action is required until one knows something about the condition of some vehicles as a sample of the condition of the entire fleet. The need for maintenance of one kind or another is revealed by inspection. When maintenance is done, the vehicles approach a condition nearer perfection than they would have been without the inspection- maintenance program.
