Abstract

Essential features of motorcycle accidents studied were (1) the incidence of head impact and injury; (2) vehicle and occupant crash kinematics (3) operator training; (4) the use of headlights; (5) incidence of operator impairment; (6) the use and effectiveness of protective clothing; (7) the influence of vehicle modification; (8) environmental factors; (9) injuries sustained by occupants; (10) damage to vehicles; (11) evasive action and (12) responsibility or fault assignment. Conclusions are presented.
