Abstract

Results of the enquiry into motorcycle and bicycle safety in Australia are presented. Recommendations concerning motorcycle safety cover braking, steering and handling, tyres and wheels, layout of controls and displays, visibility and lighting, rider training, licensing, publicity, rider and driver vision, and helmets. For bicycle safety recommendations cover bicycle design and standards, visibility, cyclist training, legislation and enforcement, publicity, road and environment factors, and cyclist secondary safety.
