Abstract

The most popular method of increasing the daytime conspicuity of motorcycles is to drive with the headlights on. The purpose of this study is to establish whether the present use of their headlights significantly increases the conspicuity of motorcycles during the day. It is concluded that a large proportion of motorcyoles do not benefit, or only benefit in certain circumstances.
