Abstract

Seven experimental crash tests are carried out. All tests were head on impacts at 30 mph. The importance of considering the head, neck and upper thorax as an inter-related group in relation to motor cyclist protection is indicated following the observation of the angles of impact of the head, neck behaviour and upper chest impact experienced in the tests.
