Abstract

Fatal and severe nonfatal injuries to drivers of 1981- 1986 model year motorcycles during 1985 in California were analyzed.. Motorcycles were classified by design category and by performance. Racing design motorcycles had the highest rate of fatal and severe crash injuries. Within this category the highest crash injury rates were for motorcycles in 575- 625 cc and 2.6- 2.8 cc /kg classes.
