Abstract

The problem of a motorcyclist in a mixed traffic stream is outlined and the possibilities explored for design both to reduce the likelihood of accident and to minimise injury in the even of accident. Those aspects of design which are appropriate to regulatory control are considered briefly. This leads to a description of the Development of Australian Design Rules and Draft Regulations, as they apply to motorcycles, and consideration of possible future action.
