Abstract

Although it can't take the place of learning from a certified motorcycle-safety instructor, this book is filled with information to help increase skill and knowledge when riding a motorcycle. This book is divided into four parts. First is "On your mark: preparing yourself and your bike". The mental and physical preparation necessity is discussed. Second is "Get set: street strategies for smart riders". Although traffic conditions are continually changing, by learning and applying street strategies, problems can be anticipated. Third is "Go: advanced theory for experienced riders". Technical information is given about traction, countersteering, cornering, and turning. Finally, in "You're on your way", on-highway riding is briefly touched. (A)
