Motorcycle safety standards : past, present and future.

Abstract

The major criteria considered in developing safety standards are presented. The ten standards now covering motorcycles and equipment in the U.S.A. are shown. Future rulemaking applicable to motorcycles is discussed, among others, high-speed warning devices, fields of indirect view; tyre and rim selection; theft protection; fuel tank; handling stability.
