Motorcycle safety update (2004-2007).

This issue of Current Topics includes over 65 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on safety aspects of motorcycling. Specific topics include accident studies, impact tests, injuries to motorcyclists, accident risks, age of motorcyclists, daytime running lights, and motorcyclists’ behaviour and training programmes. Some abstracts on motorcycle tyre design are included. Motorcycle helmets are covered in CT83.2 Safety helmets (cycle and motorcycle) update. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory’s Library Database between 2004 and 2007. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
