Abstract

Motorcycles (and mopeds/scooters) provide a space and energy efficient means of transport which can be used for a full range of transport purposes and over a range of distances and user types that cannot realistically be met by bicycles. This paper is a concise document written by the author based on parts of a major study he led recently of motorcycles as transport, which was undertaken for the Victorian Roads Corporation in Melbourne Australia and cleared for release in January 2001.
