Motoring offenses as crime : some priorities for social and action research.

Abstract

Recent trends in criminology are highlighted and their relevance for road safety research is assessed. It is concluded that research priorities should be in the areas of general deterrence, physical prevention and study of the criminal justice system. In addition, close attention should be paid to the political content within which the research is carried out.
