Abstract

It is widely believed that Britain's weather is changing - winter snaps arrive without warning and suddenly a few balmy Indian summer days can turn nasty. These unexpected severe weather conditions often mean that drivers are not prepared for the worst. Being ready for winter motoring conditions, even when the day feels comfortably warm, will allow for safer and more confident driving. 'A guide to winter driving' offers guidance and useful hints about coping with snow, ice, fog, heavy rain and hail, and provides a quick check-list to ensure your vehicle is properly prepared as well as a journey-planning guide.
