Abstract

Daytime running lights and their effects on traffic safety were investigated by a literature review in 1985. This investigation has led to further research on an attention light. After more research, also into the results in other countries, the use of daytime running lights is now strongly recommended. It is emphasized that a light on the rear side is also desirable.
