Abstract
This report reviews the extent and types of motorway lighting adopted in various countries, examines the alternative systems of lighting for motorways and interchanges, investigates economic factors in regard to the provision and maintenance of lighting on motorways, and makes recommendations regarding suitable methods available for the lighting of motorways in the United Kingdom.
