Abstract

The objective, control strategy, design consideration, system configuration and operational experience of the Tokyo Traffic Control and Surveillance system are described. The system has been intended to optimally control the traffic signals, to monitor the traffic situations at the control center and to provide the individual drivers, the routing information by means of broadcasting, etc.
