Abstract

Modern technique of large scale system concepts are utilized to optimize the performance of the transshipment problem. A two level structure, based on a variable cost of shipment is developed. A generalized conjugate gradient algorithm is adapted for the computations and in this respect global points are guaranteed. An example simulation using a computer has been carried out and the results showed good correlation with theoretical investigations.
