Abstract

The need for exchanging traffic information data between Sweden and Denmark has increased over the last years as the Oresund Region is getting moreintegrated and the number of transnational travelers in the region are growing year after year. The travelers need for updated traffic informationfor the entire region has therefore also increased. The Danish Road Directorate and the Swedish Road Administration handle their traffic information differently, and have worked intense on finding a solution to exchange data between the countries for the benefit of the transnational travelers in the Oresund Region. As a result of an intensive collaboration between the Swedish and the Danish Road Administrations it was mutually decided thatin the future Trafiken.nu/Skane (the Swedish portal) as well as trafikken.dk (the Danish portal) will present real time traffic information from both countries. This bilateral corporation gives the travelers access tolive traffic information for the entire Oresund Region and is contributing at the same time to a better regional development, environmentally soundand gender-equal road transport system in the region.
