Myths and facts in concepts of risks of elderly drivers.

Abstract

A study has been conducted into factors having an influence on safe traffic participation by elderly persons. The study is aimed at personality characteristics, behaviour aspects and the situation in which the behaviour occurred. The study involving 402 elderly motorists and 46 observers not only yields a fair by detailed picture of the driving ability, it also reveals striking and unexpected correlations.
