Abstract

Human behaviour in traffic is considered as the "software" of the traffic system. When they participate in traffic, people execute action programmes within the limitations which are imposed by the "hardware" of the system, i.e., the roads and vehicles being used. In order to study the content and formation of such action programmes, it is desirable to have available as a point of departure a theoretically based model describing the functional components and their mutual connections, which together determine form and content of these programmes. In this report, such a model is presented. As far as the theoretical foundation is concerned, emphasis is given to judgement and decision processes of people in uncertain situations. (A)
